Does the client need to have music experience for music therapy services?
Not at all! As long as they enjoy music and are open to engaging, creative experiences, they are perfectly suited for music therapy services.
Why add music therapy treatment if the client can use talk therapy?
Music has the ability to touch on multiple treatment domains at once while also being a highly preferred modality for expression, understanding, and exploration. While talk therapy has an important place for many people, music therapy can be an incredibly powerful alternative treatment and at times the most accessible way to approach challenging life experiences as well as highlight client's strengths.
Where does music therapy services take place?
Depending on need, services can be provided via telehealth or at the client's home (as applicable) to accommodate more accessible resources for clients and families.
